Lederman, Calabrese and O’Neal talk with Mike McIntyre

On Monday, September 30, WCPN 90.3FM’s Sound of Ideas host Michael McIntyre welcomed Dr. Michael Lederman, Dr. Leonard Calabrese and Naimah O’Neal to the show to reflect on 30 years of HIV/AIDS in Cleveland, then and now.

Lederman is the founder of both the John T. Carey Special Immunology Unit at University Hospitals and the AIDS Clinical Trials Unit at Case Western Reserve University and UH, the Scott R. Inkley Professor of Medicine at CWRU and the founder of the open-access journal Pathogens and Immunity. Calabrese is director of the R.J. Fasenmyer Center for Clinical Immunology at Cleveland Clinic and a 30-year collaborator with Dr. Lederman. O’Neal is a longtime HIV/AIDS activist and woman living with HIV, and a medical social worker at Circle Health Services (formerly The Free Medical Clinic of Greater Cleveland).
