Faith HIV/AIDS Awareness Day 2019

August 17, 2019

National Faith HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NFHAAD) was founded by Khadijah Abdullah in 2016. She is the founder of RAHMA (Reaching All HIV+ Muslims in America), an Islamic organization whose name in Arabic means Mercy. In 2016, advocates from 10 targeted cities convened in Washington, DC to design and discuss the reason for the day. NFHAAD was designed to bring all faiths together each year, in the fight against HIV until there is a cure. In keeping with the spirit of the day, leaders in Cleveland created the Marilyn Kuczynski Faith and Strength Award. She was chosen for this honor because of her compassion, love and commitment to those living with HIV/ AIDS and her tireless work to make sure they were always treated with dignity and respect. This award will be presented at the 2019 Faith HIV/AIDS Awareness Day on Saturday, August 17 from 4–6pm at CWRU’s Amasa Stone Chapel, 10940 Euclid Avenue, across from Severance Hall. All are welcome. RSVP for catering to 216-640-3404 or [email protected].
